Meet Indiana Farmer’s Wife

Meet Indiana Farmer’s Wife.

Hi friends,

I’ve got plenty of new followers to the page so I wanted to introduce myself again.  I’m Jenn, and many of you know me as Indiana Farmer’s Wife.  I started this blog to help bring consumer’s closer to their agricultural products.  So, let me tell you a little more about myself and the farm we live on.

  1. I did not grow up on a farm.  I’ve always loved and respected the world of agriculture but was definitely never a farm girl. I grew up in town 🙂 Learn more about me here.
  2. My farmer, Scott, is my high school sweetheart. We have been married almost 8 years and together for nearly 15 years.
  3. We have 3 little ones, ages 4 and younger. William, Quinn, & Ainsley.  Raising them on a farm is the best life I could imagine for them.
  4. I’m a Registered Nurse in our local OB department.  I love my job!
  5. We raise around 8,000 hogs a year.  Yep, you read the right, 8,000. Click here or here to learn a little more about our hog operation
  6. We also have a registered cow-calf herd. This is one of my personal favorite parts of living on the farm. Learn more about our cow here.
  7. I’m continually learning. Learning about agriculture. Learning about being a farmwife. Click here to learn more about what I have learned. I also hope you learn something from me!
  8. I love anything old.  Old homes. Antiques. History. That’s my thing.
  9. Something few people know, I listen to early or swing jazz music while I am canning in the summer. It’s the same kind of music my grandma used to play on her kitchen radio & I can’t can without having that same music playing because she was the one who instilled a love of preserving food in my heart.
  10. Probably no big surprise, but country music is my favorite.  I’m talking real country music. Do yourself a favor, add Joey + Rory Radio and Joe Diffie Radio to your Pandora playlists.  (I didn’t grow up listening to country music, and actually never listened to a country song until middle school!)

So, that’s a little bit more about me.  I like talk about pigs, cows, green grass and wide open blue skies. I try and keep it real and upbeat over here. Thanks for following along
